Have you ever wanted to participate in a triathlon, but couldn’t because of your disability?
Have you ever wanted to help someone achieve their athletic dreams?
Are you looking to be active and meet new people?
Look no further! This summer July 5-7 Sky High Adventures and the SHAC Center is holding its first ever Paratriathlon camp for athletes with disabilities.
We serve athletes with visual impairments, amputees, and wheelchair athletes. The camp will consist of three days of training as well as an additional day with a triathlon.
The camp will be taught by USA Triathlon Certified Coaches and triathletes with disabilities as well as volunteers. Our hope with this program is to get athletes with all disabilities off of the sidelines and into the world of sports because we believe that sports are for all.
We are looking to serve athletes from the ages of 8-20 and no experience in triathlon is required. We will begin with a small group this season and serve ~12-16 depending on our volunteer base.
We are looking for volunteers who have an interest in helping and it helps it they have some knowledge of triathlon but it is not required. Having a background in guiding or adapted sports is preferable, but not required.
